What is Confirmation? Confirmation is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation, along with Baptism and the Eucharist. In Confirmation, we are sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit, thus renewing and perfecting the grace we receive at our Baptism. Those who are Confirmed "are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed" (CCC 1285).
Confirmation at CCASTA is usually celebrated in the spring of 9th grade, but any teen who has reached that age and received the other Sacraments of Initiation is welcome to prepare for this sacrament with us. Our Confirmation preparation process usually takes two years, and we utilize the Purpose program from Life Teen. If you are a teen or adult who is missing one or more of the sacraments, has been away from the faith for a while, or has a special circumstance, just reach out to us, and we'll be happy to walk with you!
