The mission of the Sodality is to lead its members to Jesus through Mary and to assist the parish and community spiritually, socially, and financially. The members of St. Augustine’s Sodality have for many years played a very active role in the parish life. The Sodality has been active for 120 years.
Our work continues today in a variety of ways. Assisting our members or their families in time of need is one of our primary goals. We support the parish school and religious education programs through awards and contributions to major projects. We financially support the Youth Ministry and Vacation Bible School as well as hosting the Confirmation reception. An annual Christmas party for residents at McKeets Nursing Home is also sponsored by our members as well as food collections at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter for the Little Sisters of the Poor. The weekly and annual major church cleanings are done by our members with the help of other parishioners. This year we also sponsored a Baby Shower for the Columbia Pregnancy Center.
The social time and meetings are held monthly, September through May, on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the School Library.
All women of the parish and the community 18 years of age and older are welcome to join the Sodality at any time.
