1. First, turn to the Lord Jesus in repentance and thanksgiving for He has forgiven you for your sins. His blood shed on the cross was to wipe away your sins and bring you new life in him. “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.” Eph. 1:7
2. Forgive the person who has offended you. Say something like this: “Lord, I forgive (place their name here) for what they have done to me (be specific in telling the Lord what they have done to hurt you).”
“Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” (Mt. 6:9)
3. Bless the person. When you pray consistently for someone who has offended you, you will change in your attitude towards them. Pray something like this: “Lord, I bless (their name) with health, favor in their relationships, all their needs met. Prosper them in their work. Etc…..(Whatever else you may want to add).
4. Conclude with pray for your healing. Usually, offenses against us have hurt us in some way and we need healing for this. Pray something like this: “Lord, heal my wounds from this offense against me. Cleanse me and free me in Jesus’ name.”
Forgiveness of others is not a one-off thing. It requires of us a consistency of practice until we experience increasing new levels of interior freedom from the offense.
We have people on staff who can pray with you and minister to you for freedom in this area of our life.
